Sports
In addition to physical education classes, Cross Creek Programs offers a variety of physical fitness opportunities for the students.
Cross Creek is enrolled in the 2A High School Athletic Association and competes in Cross Country running, track and field, and girls’ and boys’ basketball. Students are required to be on level three prior to joining the team and level four prior to playing the games held off grounds.
The Bobcats have both girls’ and boys’ basketball teams competing against other region schools. In the past the teams have not won many games, but the commitment and enthusiasm of these young players is phenomenal. Mr. Rosey Rosander has coached the boys’ team since 2004 and has developed well balanced and hard working young men, many of whom have been accepted to play in Junior colleges around the country after completing the program. Mr. Rosey teaches the boys to be tough on the court but to treat every individual on and off the court with respect.
Mr. Jason Smith , is at the helm of the girls’ basketball team. His dedication to the sport and to the girls’ physical and mental development of the game has made a difference in how the game is played. Mr. Jason has been the coach since 2008, and has become a well-liked coach who requires discipline and hard work from his players.

Softball
Cross Creek Programs participates in the local city leagues for softball. Both boys and girls play on leagues in Hurricane, Utah, girls being a co-ed team made up of upper level girls and boys and staff from Cross Creek. In the past the boys’ team has taken first place in the men’s league and the co-ed team has placed second. Mr. Lynn Lewellin has coached the girls’ recreational softball team since 1998, and Mr. Bob Seamans has been pushing the boys’ team since the year 2000.

Cross Country
The Cross Creek Bobcats participate in about nine meets across the state of Utah yearly. Each year the team members from Cross Creek earn a birth at State Championship meet held in northern Utah. This is a tremendous accomplishment for a school that prepares the athletes only for a short period of time in comparison to other high schools where students are coached many years to become excellent athletes. The Cross Country Coach, Mr. Eddie Calamity, takes great care in working with students on their physical as well as their emotional and mental part of successful running.
Track and Field
Cross Creek Programs participates in the spring sport of Track and Field, representing the program in most events. In the past we have produced a state champion in boys’ high jump and placed second and third in events such as 4x100 and 4x400. Track and Field starts practices early in the year and competes with other 2A schools in the region. Mr. Eddie Calamity, also the Cross Country Coach, coaches the track and field teams in both team and individual events.
Gym
Two – three times a week upper level boys and girls have a privilege of working out at our local health spa/gym. The added physical exercise and use of exercise equipment at the gym further assists the students to become more physically fit and ready to compete in the sporting events around the region, not to mention the healthy habits the teens are developing by taking care of their bodies.
It is evident that sports and physical fitness play an important part in the students’ preparations to go home and continuing a physically and emotionally healthy life style.
