Kenneth Seely, PhD

Dr. Seely has been employed with Cross Creek Programs for 12 years. He is the school’s onsite psychologist. He has worked with teens who are struggling with self esteem and emotional issues for the past 19 years. His role at Cross Creek Programs is to consult with the therapists, Treatment Team and Directors on issues relating to the students’ therapy program. He is available to do all the psychological testing, as requested. He works with some of the students on an individual basis when needed.

Brian Parker, MS, MFT

Mr. Brian Parker is a licensed marriage and family therapist with the state of Utah. Mr. Parker received his master’s degree in counseling/marriage and family therapy at UNLV in Las Vegas, and his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Utah University. He is a Clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as a member of Psi Chi, a National Honor Society in Psychology.

Parker’s clinical experience includes working as a therapist at Cross Creek since January of 2000. In addition he has experience with private practice both in Nevada and Utah, working at a Community Counseling Center in Las Vegas, and with the federal prison system in working with men and women being paroled. Parker specializes in working with individuals and their families in addressing issues with defiant attitudes and behaviors, substance abuse, sexual issues, anger, self-harming behaviors, depression, and working with family dynamics. Parker’s clinical experience has enabled him to work effectively with the adolescents and their families towards successful resolutions and positive outcomes.

Parker was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. He and his wife are the parents of four children. He enjoys the outdoors, sports and spending time with his family.

Garth Lasater, CSW

Mr. Garth Lasater is a Licensed Certified Social Worker in the State of Utah and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University and his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.

Mr. Garth specializes in working with adolescents and their families in addressing chemical dependency, oppositional defiant attitudes and behaviors, depression and other family issues. He has a wide range of clinical experiences from providing individual, family and group therapy to teaching life skills and other educational information pertinent to recovery. Garth’s past experience has included being the Outpatient Director of the Utah Alcoholism Foundation’s Central Utah Treatment Center where he also worked with alcoholic/drug abusive clients in a sixty day inpatient program. He also worked for the division of Family Services within the State of Utah assisting families and adolescents in crisis.

Mr. Garth was the recipient of the Special Recognition Eli Lilly Welcome Back Award for his primary care with those who are engaged in the struggle with clinical depression. Mr. Garth and his wife are the parents of three, a 21-year old daughter, 19-old son and another son age 16.

Alice Bagley

Ms. Alice Bagley is the registrar for the Cross Creek Program’s High School in charge of all transcripts and educational plans. Ms. Alice has worked at Cross Creek for the last nine years (since 2000). She loves working with the students.

Ms. Alice received a Diploma from the Kanab Business Program. After receiving a degree in banking she was in the banking industry for 15 years. She was a Customer Service Representative/Vault Teller.

Ms. Alice loves being busy and making the school the best it can be.

Nurse

Cindy Jensen, RN

Ms. Cindy Jensen has been taking care of sick Cross Creek students and staff since May 1995. She is a registered nurse, having received her degree from Mohave Community College.

Ms. Cindy is an amazing individual having the patience to listen to everything from minor scrapes and whining to broken bones and fevers. Ms. Cindy continues her education and preparedness yearly through the State Community Education and Disease Control and provides the staff and students most recent information on treating illnesses. In addition Ms. Cindy administers medications, schedules doctor’s appointments and keeps the facility running healthy.

Ms. Cindy is married and has three daughters and six grandchildren. The best part about working at Cross Creek is the “changes she witnesses in the students as move up on levels and become mores self-sufficient and less needy.”

Carolyn Callahan

Ms. Carolyn Callahan has been at Cross Creek Programs for 10 years (since 2001) and is a Family Representative for groups 3, 4 and 8 in the boys’ program.

When not at work, Ms. Carolyn believes in community service and is busy in the Washington County throughout the year. She works with young women ages 14-18 on achieving goals in community service and scholarships.

Ms. Carolyn has four grown daughters and seven grandchildren, and in her spare time (ha-ha) loves to attend all of their activities.

Jean Jepson

Ms. Jean Jepson is the Family Representative for Group 7 and K-Group. She has been married to her best friend, Mike for 22 years and they have two children, Layne,21 and MyKey Ann, 19.

Ms. Jean has been employed at Cross Creek for almost 13 years. She loves to cheer on the BOBCAT teams, enjoys traveling to Cross Country Meets, basketball games and Track and Field events giving teams her support. The kids are always winners in her eyes!

Ms. Jean truly enjoys the families she has worked with throughout the years. They are very inspiring to her and she is always thrilled to hear from them. Ms. Jean’s hobbies include cooking and baking, and everyone loves a great day of retail therapy! She loves drill teams and hanging out with her family and with her Cross Creek kids. They are truly the greatest gifts to her.

Kathy Christiansen

Ms. Kathy Christiansen began working at Cross Creek Programs in 1991 as a staff. She has worked here continuously since then. She enjoys being here and appreciates the interaction she is able to have with the students. Ms. Kathy feels this is a most rewarding experience; watching the growth that comes to the young people who attend here.

Ms. Kathy was born in Southern Utah and has spent the majority of her life here. She is married to her best friend and they are parents of five children. They are also the proud grandparents of seven very smart children. Her favorite thing to do is sped time with her family. They enjoy riding four wheelers and camping. She uses the term “camping” loosely because they have a camp trailer. Ms. Kathy’s goal is to continue the best she can to support her family and also the students at Cross Creek.

Sherry Wagner

Ms. Sherry Wagner has been a Family Representative for Cross Creek Programs almost 14 years. She has had the privilege of working with several wonderful young men and women and their families. She has had many people ask what she likes about her job, and she tells them that the best part is watching the young adults and their families working their program to have happier and healthier relationships. Ms. Sherry doesn’t look at what she does as a job, but rather as a mission from God.

Ms. Sherry and her husband Dennis have three grown daughters and three grandchildren.
